Chyulu Honey Processors holds its first strategic MEL forum

Chyulu Development Foundation has succesfully initiated the Apiculture enterprise, named the Chyulu Honey Processors Project. The enterprise idea is part of the strategic solution(UKULIMA BORA) that seeks to extend nature- positive, climate smart and resilient alternative practices along the (509.9kms radius) Chyulu and Tsavo community corridor.

On this day, a team of opinion leaders, office bearers and farmers met to deliberate a way forward on the Apiculture value chain, as advanced by Chyulu Processors.

Part of the agendas discussed include:
A) Encouraging farmers to register with NTHONZA SACCO, for their sustainable savings and credit access,
B) Preparation for the oncoming March harvest season,
C) Diversification of farm activities especially the adoption of household agroforestry,
D) Stakeholdership and registration of new bee keepers
C) Inclusion of Persons with Disability into the sustainable apiculture agenda.

The forum resolved to uphold, scale up and replicate the local bee keeping sector through planning full industrialization of Chyulu enterprise.
