Date: September 19, 2025

Location: Tsavo West National Park Hall

Working Together for Human–Wildlife Coexistence

On 19th September, Chyulu Development Foundation, represented by Dr. Mary Ndolo, participated as one of the key partners in the Quarterly Human–Wildlife Conflict Stakeholders Workshop held at Tsavo West National Park. The event was hosted by Tsavo Trust in partnership with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and Kamungi Conservancy.

Over 55 partners attended, including WRTI, ZSL, Lukenya University, Makueni County Government, and local community representatives — all united in advancing peaceful coexistence between people and wildlife.

The workshop addressed challenges such as elephant raids on farms, limited conservation awareness, and incomplete fencing. Proposed solutions emphasized fence maintenance, improved elephant management, conservation education, and stronger community engagement.

The meeting underscored the importance of collaboration and shared commitment in promoting sustainable coexistence and resilience across the Tsavo–Chyulu landscape.
